Old Red was built in 1883 of hand hewn logs in Carbondale Colorado. Designworks is undertaking the Architectural design as well as managing and in some cases doing the actual construction. It was in a state of extreme disrepair when purchased. The foundation is also in rough shape and needs to be undermined and replaced in some areas. The exterior was covered with redwood clapboards that are currently slated for restoration. In addition to stabilizing and restoring the primary structure additional living space will be appended to the rear and a guest house will be constructed at the rear of the lot. Here are some preliminary pictures of the demo process. Check out the old timbers!
